Well, it's that time of the year again. If you go to college or university you might be already planning your room decor for the year. Or maybe you just want to spruce up your apartment! Maybe you or someone you know is moving into their own place for the first time. Spice up their lives (or yours) with these cute home decor items.

If you're lucky enough to not have to share a bathroom, check out this statement snail soap dispenser. 25% off right now at $12.99. Is it gross? Is it awesome? Can't it be both?

Okay, so full disclosure. While I was making this list I was also thinking about a friend of mine, and it's quite possible that I got a little bit of inspiration from her. She's going through a time and a half and she's looking to move into an apartment and it's going to be the first time she's lived alone ... well... ever ! So I added a few things to the list I know would cheer her up in her new place.

I don't know why NASA themed merch made such a comeback, but I am HERE FOR IT.

Of course what better way to show your school pride? Hey, I didn't say it had to be your school.

There is going to be a little Harry Potter on this list. Like these gorgeous wall decals ! Dorm or apartment room friendly because they peel off when you're done. Way easier than a day of painting - and way less likely to piss off your new land lord!

I just love these mugs. Imagine waking up and drinking something warm and steamy from it on a chilly fall morning, fog rolling off the lake, giant squid slapping the water lazily in the distance... Too far... did I take it too far?

This might be the best platform 9 3/4 sign I've seen yet. I like how it's just got a yellowed glow like it's straight from the London underground.

Stickers ! For personalizing your laptop, binders, waterbottles, whatever ! And they're so cute! Voldemort is not supposed to be so adorable, but I can't even be mad.

I am here for anything that makes doing laundry even the teensiest bit less miserable, and having a cute, collapsible laundry bag fits that bill for me. Perfect for small spaces, because when you aren't using it you can just fold it up and tuck it somewhere. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. https://amzn.to/3crLPD7

Ok, we're definitely delving away from nerdy and into functional -as if those two things don't just go hand in hand. You can charge your phone and wake up on time with this bad boy ! And because I love a bargain, it's on sale right now for $19.99 https://amzn.to/3PVwIj5

Ok, you know that friend I mentioned earlier? About that friend of mine? I think our original bonding moment was over Stranger Things. It turned out we both loved that show. She's an artist and I still have this picture she drew of me with "Best Damn Babysitter" on it. I love it.

Is this cute? Is it a hideous monster from my worst nightmare? Who's to say. All I know is I want to snuggle it and punt it across the room into an unguarded fan all at the same time. https://amzn.to/3CzZUJq

Another bargain, these sweet throw pillow cases; perfect for adding a personal touch to any new space.
https://amzn.to/3AlWUxy on sale for $29.99

I love stickers, if you couldn't tell. I was that kid that had a collection of all the stickers off the apples, and I'd leave them around the house like tiny gang tags. Good thing Marie Kondo wasn't super popular then, because doing that definitely did not bring my parents any joy.
https://amzn.to/3e3rgNE only $9.99

I may have gone a little bit overboard with the Stranger Things decor, but hey ! It's hard to say that show didn't have some great visuals. Like this Hellfire Club poster, so we can all channel our inner Eddie.

Ok again, why do they have to go and make super demonic bad things into the CUTEST stuff? You could put your succulents in there .

I swear I am ALMOST done with all the Stranger Things stuff. But come on a floormat? This is cool. https://amzn.to/3PUIlXC

Posters ! Wall Art! So damn renter friendly. And what a great way to quickly personalize a space that wasn't yours just a few short weeks ago. Ok moving on from Stranger Things.

Ok I lied. We're not done. In my defense I started this list last night after a very long day at work with the knowledge that I had to go back in just a few short hours. Just a few more !

Teehee, more wall art. But more subtle this time ! These decals are renter friendly and a great way to spice up your desk space-provided you have any you don't have to share !

Another bargain ! This pen holder is on sale right now for $25.06. How cute is this? Where else are those pencils going to go? Into the lost items abyss that's where! Not with this fella on duty.

Ok THIS is the last one, I swear. You could get this and the pencil holder and boom your all set for getting some work done.

This bad boy is going to set you back $281.99, but look at it ! What Jedi wouldn't want one of these?

These fridge magnets, to zing up your fridge are sold by Bullseye Office and retail for $13.25 /4pack.

This set of cork DnD coasters will save your tables.

This set of geometric book ends will keep all your text books from falling over; unless you're studying to become a doctor, or an engineer. On sale right now for $32.00

Another peel and stick wall decal, but this time for the Hobbit ! On sale again for $20.99. 32% off regular price.

Once again, why are we always making things that are supposed to be scary and evil so cute? What's wrong with us and a society? Oh well, I'm not mad. Combining something adorable with functionality is a hit every time. On sale for $19.99

Nothing says fancy quite like having ice shaped like diamonds ! Think of the iced coffees you could make!

OR maybe you know someone going to school for dentistry?

I used to have one of these with a map of the world on it. Mostly because I was REALLY bad at geography and I was hoping if I saw it every day I could absorb the knowledge by osmoses. It kind of worked.

These are fridge magnets; because the fridge is arguably the most boring appliance in the house... until now. Right now save 44% on sale - $32.99.

A Tardis metal sign ! Perfect for distinguishing your dorm room from everyone elses on the floor. Even if it's not bigger on the inside. P.S If you ever meet my husband ask him why there isn't a picture of me with a life sized Tardis. Go ahead. Ask him.

Oh dear, I wonder what Freud would think of this.

This is TOO punny !

Pik-a-CHUUUUUU!

I find it crazy how Pokemon has evolved over time.... get it?

For when you have to go train at the gym ! Congratulations, no one is accidentally going to take your water bottle ever again.

WTF is this? It's a Jurassic Park 5.5 inch Raptor claw made with zinc alloy. It says it's all purpose, but as far as I can tell it can be used as a bottle opener, or for ripping the flesh of your enemies.

Blue Punch Buggy! These magnets are so handy for your dishwasher (OR washing machine may I add) you just have to remember to actually flip it over.

Am I the only one who gets a sick level of satisfaction from having matching kitchen utensils? It's like having fresh office supplies, or a new paperback. It feels like having my life together.

Listen, I just thought this measuring spoon set was cute; so I added it to the list. It's my list. I can do what I want.

Ok so chop sticks that look like light sabers ! I don't know who came up with this; but they were thinking outside the box.

A mug, so you don't have to prove your intelligence before you finish your coffee. People will see it and already assume you're smart. (I don't know if you've ever had this problem. Working in customer service may have ruined me.)

Rounding off my list, here is a set of cardboard Nintendo coasters. Add a vintage feel to your coffee table on a budget. :)
Hope you enjoyed my list, as much as I enjoyed making it. :)
